You Have to Start Somewhere

I thought it was fitting that I start this blog with one of the first murals I ever painted. There were a couple I had done in my room growing up, but they never got finished and never stayed up very long! My friend in High School had this vision of a castle and a scripture painted on her wall and I jumped at the chance to paint it for her. We looked at countless pictures of castles and designed a version using the Cinderella castle from Disneyland. We got the paint and started early in the afternoon, only stopping for nourishment and bathroom breaks, I continued painting into the night. While my friend fell asleep if I remember right :). 

Looking back it isn't as perfect as I thought it was, since who knows where you go when you enter the castle :), but I painted it straight from the heart to someone I love. Her reaction was what helped me know that this was what I wanted to do! I wanted to paint beautiful things in peoples homes to make them happy. Thanks Haylee for helping me find my calling!
